You might think you are important to others.

You are not.

That your word has the weight of a ton.

You are wrong.

That your opinion is important.

Is not.

That you are needed.

You are not.

That only you can save the whole family’s goodwill.

No.

That everyone is waiting for you.

Nobody is waiting for you. Maybe one person.

That your wife is faithful to you…

maybe not.

You see, life is but full of uncertainties.

We are surrounded by them at all times.

We don’t know if we are going to make it home.

If the car is going to be broken tomorrow at seven.

With a flat tire. A faulty engine. Low battery.

Or someone is going to call you to tell you to be

in need of moneys. And you are going to tell him you don’t

have any. And after all that, your car would not start.

You might by then feeling about losing your mind.

And thinking about the knife.

But you would not do it.
