I was in this oasis. Taking a respite from my journey to the next town.
I decided to walk aimlessly taking as reference point the torch outside
the rest area. The sky couldn’t be darker. The stars closer to my hands.
The air was warm. A smell of sand…if sand can have a smell…silence
was piercing and loud. My eardrums felt about to explode. Being used
to traffic and all type of noise. There were as many stars above me as
grains of sand under my back. Drank a couple of shots of my Whiskey.
Laid down contemplating the dark ocean of stars before my eyes.
My body lost in the dark. My mind flooded with countless thoughts.
The one at the front was the face of my sweet love. I was missing her.
Although I was going to meet her in Paris to spend two weeks together.
Oh, warm Sahara…Oasis of respite for a tired traveller.
