Still breathing. Moving. Thinking. Seeing. Haven’t lost my vision to

some incurable disease. I still lift those 40 pound dumbells.

When I remember doing it. Eating little. Drinking lots of red wine.

Sleeping and dreaming like crazy. Feeding on cucumbers. Nuts and

seeds as a bird. A huge bird. Staring blankly at the ceiling. Hoping to

see the face of Sweet Mary. The one I caress and kiss in my dreams.

Mary, the dream of my dreams. The one I long to hold till the Second

Coming of Sweet Jesus Christ. Mary, the love of my life.

Want to have babies with. Twelve of them. As the Twelve Tribes of

Israel. But, Mexicans. Pure blood Mexicans. I hope I can still do it.

Half plus century past…still young. Mary, see me this evening.
