Jesus got up early. There was a lot going on in his mind. Magdalene was
deep asleep. He didn’t want to disturb her peace and quiet. She looked
so beautiful. Her face was a rainbow to his heart. Went to the market to
have something to eat. Yogurt and dates. Walked to the mountain. The
place of reunion. There were already a hundred people waiting for
him. The twelve fisherman sat around him. People kept coming.
He waited. While ordering his thoughts. The sun shone bright and hot.
Jesus started his parables. One after the other. And that was kind of
a problem…how do you get to understand your saying…your ideas to
illiterate people…as the fishermen themselves. Without belittling them.
Yes, it seems Jesus had the words and ways at his command to say this
and that, but…in parables…sounded obscure and mysterious. Not as in
real life. Maybe that was his mistake. I’ve no idea. Had he explained
things the way you explain something to others in the most simple
ways…probably they would had gotten the point. 2000 years later…
Scholars still debate his parables…that’s too much. Why he didn’t say
things the way a Chinese philosopher said them 500 years before him.
Such as: whenever two people walk together, there is something one
sees before the other. Stuff like that.
No, he talked about the futility of building a house on sandy
foundations…( that one is kind of easy ) instead of on solid rock one…
But then he got this about: if someone strikes in you in one cheek, show
him the other…there gets a bit confusing…because if someone strikes
my cheek, I strike back the entire face of the other fellow.
And Jesus would carry on in that fashion. Till it was time for lunch.
It was when he and the twelve disciples went onto the Sea of Galilee, to
try their luck with their fishing nets. While he took a nap. All that
talking and thinking kind of took its toll. Needed a break. After that,
they would aim for the beach and go home. Filling out another day.
It was when Jesus would stop at the market to get something for
dinner for him and sweet Magdalene. He would get home and
Magdalene would greet him with the sweetest kisses and warm
embrace.
