Days are shorter. Autumn shadows get higher. Yours looks as 50 foot
long. Relatives visit you. With their dogs. Conversation breaks as a
waterfall. Hugs and kisses at every step of the living room. Food at
the table. Crazy uncle John drops bad joke after bad joke. And he hasn’t
had one single glass of red wine yet. He laughs at them as at the first
time. He goes out of breath and has to pull hard on the oxygen line in
his nose. Grandchildren run start running up and down the house and
yard. The dog and all those kids are having a ball! Uncle John decides
to take a nap in your bed. It’s crazy time! You all sit at the table and
have a great time. Time is dripping by and your folks are getting old…
as well as you. The liver spots in your hands and parched skin tell
you to enjoy once more the evening as much as possible. Diner is had.
Time for sweeties. Some of them decide to watch a tv show. Others play
table games. And everyone is having a wonderful time.
Time to leave arrives. Has to take the next Time train back home.
It was a lovely evening.
