Even though I get to it at closing time, I have to walk waddling throug

a flood of warm tears. They aren’t wet but warm at my ankles.

Lobo jumps as fast as possible to get to my Mama’s stone as his paws

burn. After I leave my satchel and backpack at the feet of the stone, I

pull out my Tequila and have a long one. Along with a cigarette. And

think. Being almost Summertime, the sunset is not in a hurry to rest.

Finally darkness starts to set in as a large crow going to his line.

Covering the last cubic inch of space. And it feels lovely at last.

The breeze, the tree branches moving sensually, its leaves caressing me.

The Flor de Noche sweetly piercing the walls of my nostrils.

I bring the petrol lamp. The can of tuna for my furry friend Speedy.

The feral cat who lives somewhere around. I have my bottle of water

and a small plastic tray. Once I’m all settled down. I read for a while.

Feel like going for a walk after it and come back to lay on my back

to look at the moon. To find out what concealed secret there is for me

this time. Drink some more of my Tequila, have another cigarette and

listen to my Mama’s bones happily rattling before we say good night.

Good night.
